I think this is one of the better deals under $100. The Kala "Longneck" soprano is essentially a soprano sized body with a concert sized neck on it. This provides a slightly longer scale length, which equals slightly higher string tension (to me this is more comfortable) and a little wider fret spacing to squeeze your fingers into those more difficult chords.
The top back and sides on the KA-SLNG are laminated Mahogany and the body is nicely bound with a shiny gloss finish. This ukulele comes fully set up and has Aquila strings on it. Ready to go!
This uke is a great deal, nice feel, good projection, solid intonation, and handsome looks.
After our 16 point set-up process this ukulele will sound and feel amazing.

Amazing little instrument!

My fat bass player hands could not deal with a soprano, and I wanted something more punchy than my tenor. This was it!
Very nice sound, and to commend the good folks at use-fan.com, the set up made it more playable than any out of the box instrument in a chain store. I am looking forward to my next ukulele from you!

great value on a longneck soprano

Maybe the best $90 uke around, with its nice combo of a soprano body and sound with a concert neck. (I liked it even more with Fremont Blackline strings, but to each his/her own.) It's great for strumming, and also nice for picking (especially with the Fremont strings). The Cordoba Deluxe Gigbag is a good deal, too, and I found that this Kala fit into the concert size one that I have. If you want a soprano sound but a roomier fretboard, this is a great bargain way to go.
